Skater Dude
My nine year old son Trey wants to be the next Tony Hawk. The problem is we live in the country and have a gravel road and gravel driveway. The only place for him to practice is inside the garage. Now here is a moment of complete honesty. Our garage is a “MESS” and it’s not the best place for a nine year old Tony Hawk wannabe to practice. So, he ends up taking his skateboard with us in our van when we go places in hopes of being able to skate. This last weekend we spent time at my parents for Father’s Day. Well, Trey brought his skateboard and we even took him to the local park where they have a “skatepark”. He was in “nine year old heaven.” I took this pic of him last night in my parents drive way. Here is some tech info for any other photogs out there who might be interested. I used two small sunpak flash units off camera. The one on Camera right was a little bit above head level pointed down with a shoot thru umbrella. The other flash was on camera left behind Trey about 5 ft and at about his waist level pointing back at him and up. The camera was set at ISO 400 and the shot was made at 1/10th of a second to allow the ambient light in the sky to show up a bit. It was shot at f5.6. The main light was set to 1/2 power and the kicker light was set to 1/8th power. In photoshop I just tweeked levels and curves a little bit. Other than that this is straight from the camera. Let me know what you think.
